In case you haven’t been following along on my YouTube channel, back around October 18, 2025 (starting around the time of this video) I decided, on a whim (just like how I opened my YouTube channel in September 2011, and just like 90% of my life), and partly inspired by the late, great Tupac Shakur himself (after I did this video where I react to listening to him for the first time at 54 years old), to copy & paste my short-form writings from the early 2000’s (my early thirties) into a book, and include a preface that serves as both a brief explanation and autobiography until I write my official memoir (starting sometime in 2028/29, knock on wood).
In terms of my old writings themselves, they’re a wide range of topics and genres, from the childish and whimsical, to the horrific and obscene.
As for the book itself, well, something unprecedented happened: I started to write, not only for the first time in almost twenty years, but to write an actual book for the first time in my life at 54 years old.
Without spoiling anything, all I will say is that it went from a book about me, to a book about the reader and the book. It went from an anthology, to a 2nd person story, much like the ASMR videos on my YouTube channel, and how I interact with the viewer. Same premise, more or less. The old writings are still there, but they’ve been incorporated into the larger narrative. It’s no longer a snore-fest of back-to-back pages upon pages of poem after poem. The old writings are less than 10% of the book, which is well over one hundred thousand words now.
As for what the book will be about, again, I won’t state any spoilers or specifics, but I will say that it’s mostly fictional, and fits into a wild mix of genres, such as Comedy, Dark Comedy, Bureaucratic Satire, Horror, Cosmic Horror, Splatterpunk, Metafiction, Experimental Fiction, New Weird, Bizarro, Absurdist, Surrealist, Ergodic, Interactive, Science Fiction, and some Retro-tech and Cyber-gothic aesthetics.
As for when it will be published? I can’t say. I once said Spring 2026, then October, now December/January 2027, which still may be on target. We’ll see! I’m new to all this, and I still have to finish the third and final draft (which I’m currently working on), and do things like use a professional grammar tool to fix mechanical errors and such once I’m finally satisfied and done editing/proofreading/writing. I’m doing everything myself, with occasional use of AI as an assistant to help with corrections (just like a brain surgeon asks for a scalpel or sutures during surgery). I won’t say anymore than that, as my use of AI is also incorporated into the book.
