Notable Humans:

As I have grown more sober (both physically and philosophically) and cynical (yet remaining optimistic) in my midlife as I write this, I am no longer a fanatic consumer of art like I once was when I was young. However, I cannot deny the impact, influence and inspiration that the following humans have played in my life, specifically in regards to opening my mind to new ideas, art forms, other artists, etc.:

Bill Hicks – One of the most influential, honest and eye-opening comedians and people I have ever witnessed. Unfortunately, he passed away not long before I found out about him. I wish I could have seen him perform, and more importantly: I wish he were still alive today.

King Diamond (Mercyful Fate): One of the most unique humans I’ve ever witnessed. An amazing performer, vocalist, writer and musician. Sadly, have yet to see him in concert. Maybe that will change one day soon before he retires . . .

Tool – While I am no longer a fan of this band (for my own reasons I will not mention), they were very influential and inspiring due to their unique music and art, not to mention the fact that they were the ones who introduced me to Bill Hicks via their album Aenema.

Metallica: Their impact on my life as a Catholic school kid in the 80’s was enormous and opened my ears up to the greatest genre of music.

Other bands I have enjoyed over the years: Gojira, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Nuclear Assault, Pink Floyd, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Holy Terror, Deathrow, Pantera, Primus, Sepultura, NIN, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, AC/DC, Korn, Faith No More, Overkill, Danzig, Static-X, Suicidal Tendencies, Ministry

Douglas Adams – “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” was one of the greatest and funniest pieces of literature I’ve ever had the pleasure to read.

Sagazan – I discovered this French performance artist and sculptor on YouTube. His talent and creativity are beyond words and influenced some of my YouTube videos.
